First off, there is no leveling up in Konquest mode. Gone are the repetitive backgrounds and the silly little monk who waves at you when you dawdle too long. MKD is the first Mortal Kombat game to truly fulfill the promise of the series' ever-expanding mythology, and it does this primarily through the amazingly cool Konquest mode. There's a lot to cover in a game this huge, so let me jump right in to the meat of the review. This is the best of the old mixed with the best of the new, and the obvious result is one the best of the Mortal Kombat games in the history of the franchise.
